John has worked with companies throughout the United States to design and facilitate leadership development and change management programs and to support performance improvement initiatives. He has helped leaders think more critically and creatively through his Strategic Thinking workshops. He combines a broad business background with an organization development expertise to help organizations leverage their human resources potential to achieve competitive advantages.
Prior to becoming an external OD consultant, John led reengineering and organizational change initiatives during a successful corporate turn around at USF&G, a large national insurance company and later led merger related integration activities when the company was acquired by St. Paul Insurance. While serving as VP of Corporate Services at IWIF, he revamped their HR department, implemented a management organization review, and introduced a leadership development curriculum. He designed TRUE NORTH, a web-based 360-degree personal development feedback instrument.
John received his Bachelor’s degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and holds a Masters Degree in Education from Syracuse University and a Masters Degree from Johns Hopkins University in Applied Behavioral Science. John has partially completed the coursework for his doctoral degree in Human Resource Development at The George Washington University.
John has authored articles on leadership development and change management and is a frequent speaker at national conferences. He currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at the Federal Executive Institute in Charlottesville, VA and is a faculty member at AMA (American Management Association). He has conducted a wide variety of assignments with diverse organizations such as: IKEA, National City Bank, Univ. of Maryland Medical Center, GeneralRe Insurance, CrossCom National, MBIA, Loyola College, Federal Reserve Bank, St. Paul Company, Home Depot, Harleysville Insurance, and CitiFinancial. |
