Training and Development Methodology
Our training and development programs are anchored by well researched principles and methodology. Our programs:
Focus on the needs of the learner
Adult learners are motivated to learn when the content has direct application to real issues they face. Powerful programs address three basic questions: What do I need to learn? Why do I need to learn? How am I going to apply what I learned?
Work within the context of the organization
Adult learners want programs that are relevant to their environment. Our programs integrate examples, scenarios and issues from real-world situations. Discussions are brought back to the participant’s own unique culture, situation and needs.
Use a variety of learning styles
Because people learn differently, effective programs recognize the need to use a variety of learning methods. These methods include case studies, role-playing, videos, reading, discussion, lecture, experiential exercises, simulations and feedback instruments.
Propel the learner to action
Learning is effective if it is used. Our programs outline both individual and organizational benefits of the learning, and provide usable concepts, frameworks and practice to increase the learner's skill, help them internalize the learning and gain confidence.
Apply adult learning principles
Being an effective facilitator involves understanding how adults learn best. We are guided in all of our development programs by the learning principles and practices as pioneered by Malcolm Knowles in the field of adult learning.
